This might be a little touchy but why would he be paid so less? Are there other renumerations such as lodging, expenses, etc?
While on vacation I am sitting here catching up on last Sunday's sermon that I missed by way of the archived webcast and Corey did actually address the no shoes while preaching question! He said when people ask him why he says "Not anything profound. When it is warm I just don't like wearing shoes". Sometimes the answer to a question is the most simple one.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Like all of us he is human and he will be the first to tell you that he is not perfect but he is very open and honest and loves God and people. One of the reasons I posted the video was the hope that people can see that even though someone else might not believe exactly the way they do or have church the way they do they can still have a sincere love of God and burden for reaching the lost. Many times churches like mine are characterized as shallow and only interested in money or numbers and while i am sure that is true of some it certainly is not the case here. I think my pastor actually enjoyed pastoring the church more when it was a much smaller group but he understands that if the church is carrying out the great commission it should be growing.

Well thank God he doesn't say "when it is warm I just don't like wearing clothes"
