I think he definitely makes an effort to be balanced, certainly seems to address things from an intellectual perspective, and is relatively easy to listen to. But I'm concerned by the seeming influence that Steven Furtick and Bill Johnson seem to have over him. His facebook has tons of quotes from those guys.
There are few guys I'd run away faster than Steven Furtick (maybe Rob Bell) and Bill Johnson with his ties to Todd Bentley, and the "New Apostolic Revival" heresy (this is the phony fake garbage of glory clouds, fire tunnels, Kansas City Prophets, and all manner of charismania).
I'm dumbfounded that Steve Pixler seems so enamoured with those guys. They seem to be everything he is not (which is a good thing). I hope he doesn't follow those guys. I think if he sticks with biblical knowledge and common sense, the church could take off, especially relocating (their church building was in an awful location).
I visited there a couple of times this summer, and have friends there, I hope for the best for all of them and the church.

Didn't want to do that when he was on the other team?

Well, well, well, grow a beard, shorten your sleeves, wife gets a crewcut, daughter looks like Morticia Adams, and the whole family gets Birkenstocks, you are considered a hero, level headed, and a theologian?
Wow, Aldous Huxley would be proud.

Re: Steve Pixler Selling Cornerstone Church!
Ephesians 4:32
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
WE NEVER KNOW WHAT CAUSES PEOPLE TO CHANGE OPINIONS....however we must always let the rule of kindness be our guide in everything....(at least that is my opinion and yes I have failed that test before!)
Colossians 3:12
So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;
Micah 6:8
He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?
I have known the Pixler family for over 40 years....I remember when Brother Steve started preaching! I know people from his church that left and people that stayed. I pray for them all.
Sure love his mom and dad very much and our son Michael calls them Grandma and Grandpa Pixler. They were at the last service. I am glad even though "things" have changed they seem to be on good terms. Glad for that.

That was simply mean. No need to get personal. To start making comments about someones wife and kids is beyond juvenile, and certainly not Christlike. But you good ole boys are holier than thou and in self righteousness point and sneer at everyone else. The phonyness of the ultra con love is always manifest when someone leaves their fold. You guys see it as standing for the old paths and uncompromising, everyone else sees it as emulations, jealousy, bitterness and hatred. The UCs true spirit and true love is,manifest when someone leaves. Typically thats when the mask is ripped off. Its sad.
Isn't it ironic that those who leave are always tagged as "bitter", but in reality it seems the ones who seem bitter are those who choose to stay. Seemingly jealous over another mans freedom, while they themselves languish in bondage? And they know they want out, they know they want freedom, but fear the opinions of peers, and the humility that comes from admitting we were wrong all those years.
True, some people leave and make spiritual shipwreck of themselves. A lot of that is on the individual, but also, I believe, a big factor is the unhealthy spiritual environment they leave. While I don't believe oneness pentecostalism is a cult, it certainly shares a lot of physiological and social similarities to groups like Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and 7th Day Adventists. And the reaction of those still in vs those who leave is eerily similar to the cults.

Re: Steve Pixler Selling Cornerstone Church!
No matter how much I disagree I try to be Christ like...and like I said I fail many times...but that is my goal. Sometimes I pass and sometimes I don't.
Evang.Benincasa may I say his daughter might read here...please don't hurt the children...I know her and she is a sweet girl and I am sure she loves the Lord in her own way. People seldom forget the bad things others say about them.
His wife is a sweetheart....I do not know why he took the road he did...however he is her husband...who knows the hurt they may have suffered...some people take different routes...however the family unit is sweet.
We visited there many times in the past and were always treated very kind. He does not (maybe did not) do not know now if he believes in women preachers but always treated me with uttermost respect and always called me to the pulpit. He preached several times in the past for us and was a real gentleman.
A little on the personal side...we did not know what was going on and was going through Texas and called or maybe e mailed...I cannot remember....anyway He said, Sister Alvear you all are always welcome but it would hurt you more than help you to come here at this point.
I pray for all involved ....church troubles if it can be called that often hurt the innocent...

Recently heard a great man of God tell a group of preacher's wives "You have a responsibility to follow your husbands everywhere, except for Hell!"
I'm very sorry for his family and all that are following him. Sister Alvear, with all due respect...I fear the Apostle Paul would be far to unkind for your tastes.

Brother, I am sorry but I am only saying his family is nice...I have never said I agree with any choice the family made. Maybe I did not make myself clear.
