It seems that all the controlling and micro managing just went totally overboard and it was either push back or let this man take complete control of my mind. I don't think that's what God wants. I know He wants to control my thinking, but I seriously doubt that His way of doing it is through the preacher. The preacher isn't God, he's just supposed to point me in that direction. I just wonder if there is a way to have all the good things that I had, without having to put up with all the bad things I dealt with.

Rico,
You are asking some tough questions. Let me ask you something though. With all the blessings and such that are not overtaking you now are you still paying tithe and everything? You don't have to answer me back on here, but do it within yourself. Another thing is that some of us are like far animals. We all work well, but some of us have to be prodded to do the work. Maybe having someone you have be a cover over you that you are accountable to will help you. You may not need to return to the UPC. It could be as simple of creating that accountability factor in your life.
God did not allow you to get to the point where you wanted to leave if He had not wanted you to or have provided the provisions to cover your needs. Rico, keep on the same track, but add back the accountabilty factor. I will pm you and give my experience.
