Re: Prophetic word by Bro Arcovio "no election"
I was once talking to a woman who came to me because she felt God had abandoned her. As I spoke to her I had a short vision of her standing by a fence petting horses and goats, and other animals. I said, "God is with you always. He was even with you at the petting zoo." She looked at me bewildered and said, "Petting zoo? I've not been to any petting zoos." I said, "That's strange, the Spirit just showed me a vision of you standing by a wooden fence petting a number of animals." Her eyes became very wide and she said, "That was almost two weeks ago. My grandma had just died and we had all gathered at my dad's house. My dad has a small farm with a couple horses, a cow, chickens, and even a couple goats! I had gone out back to see the animals and be alone because me and my grandma were so close, and I was missing her."
I'm a city boy, I didn't even think it might be a "farm". LOL
Sometimes a prophetic word isn't crystal clear to the seer or prophet. As God speaks to the "inner man" (the spirit) of a man or woman with a vision or impression, they have to interpret it for expression. And when doing so the individual is often limited by vocabulary, biblical knowledge, preconceived perspectives, etc.
Some often say that this weakens the case for a seer or prophet. Actually, it doesn't. It only leaves room for our humanity. It also keeps any prophecy or vision from being elevated to being as authorative as Scripture itself.
For a people who believe in the gifts, Apostolics are often woefully uninformed or unlearned about how they work, how the gifts feel, and how to explain them.
For example, interpreting tongues. Many fail to realize that it is an "interpretation" not a "translation". This is why you can have 15 seconds of tongues and an interpretation that takes 5 minutes. Or you can have two minutes of tongues.... but the interpretation only take 30 seconds. It is an "interpretation". The interpreter is anointed to "feel" the meaning behind the utterance and is called to put the meaning into words that can be understood. And of course, this means that the accuracy of the interpretation might be limited to the interpreter's biblical knowledge, vocabulary, etc. This again, keeps any utterance from being considered as authorative as holy writ.
Sometimes men who walk in the prophetic try to "jazz up" the visions or impressions they have. Instead of saying, "The Spirit is impressing upon me that there is going to be something wrong with this election.", they'll say, "God told me there will not be an election!" While that gets people's attention, it isn't entirely what was conveyed by the Spirit. Obviously God felt the need to share with our brother that things regarding this past election were not going to be like every other election.
Lastly, a prophecy is often mocked until it is examined in retrospect.... sometimes years after the fact. Let's not be too hard on a man willing to risk looking a fool to share what is impressed upon him.
Let's be honest. This election was so wonky... the first of its kind in history... the general tone or meaning of this prophecy might not be that far off the mark. Our brother might have been sensing the fact that this election wasn't really an "election" as they were intended to be according to the Constitution, or that there might be grounds to invalidate it.
