We each take turns reading chapters, and we take turns on the verses of Psalms. My 8 yr old participates as well. There is nothing like daily reading in the King James Bible to build up a child's reading and vocabulary skills. Seriously.

I find this in the bold to be very true. As a family we don't really have a reading plan, but we read the Bible together as a family on Mondays. We pick a book we want to read, and 8 of us (5 adults, and 3 children 11 years old and under) would read a chapter each. The youngest child that is reading is 7 years old, but she was reading with us when she was in kindergarten at 5. And she reads extremely well, especially for her age.
