Apparently, the road into my old neighborhood is now somewhere in a 40 foot deep river, whereas it used to be some 30-50 feet away from the water.

You have a high pressure system that will nudge the storm west into the US preventing it from racing, quickly, out to sea, which was the other option they were looking for. Not good news.

I just heard that at least 25 of our Pastors homes & their Churches-- are gone! My thoughts & prayers are with everyone affected! 
I know PO, Tstew & a few others are from the State of Texas! 
Praying for all as Hurricane season gets in full swing!
