Re: Help us

Well, I see some may not like me asking for my babies....It is embarrassing often to me to "BEG" . and sometimes I think I will never ask again but the need is so overwhelming...it is easy to say don't ask...don't beg...and drive a nice car, live in a nice home, have money coming in...it is another thing for those that are born into deep poverty and have no skills, no help, no rich friends...maybe that is why Jesus taught...when you have a party don't call your rich friends...call those that have nothing to give in return...I have been humiliated by some because of my burden.. Often I am uncomfortably self-conscious and sensitive to careless remarks about what I do and have done in many areas for 49 years.

Doubt if many of these would have walked with Jesus when he was on earth....He ate corn from the "neighbor's" cornfield. walking...picking their own corn....wow....

The strange paradox of God....He became flesh....a man...a poor man at that to most standards...He who was rich became poor....
He came for the sick....those that need a doctor....for the bedraggled, beat-up, the marginalized folks to whom Jesus ministered: the children that no priest would have ever held on their laps he held...the outcast lady of Samaria he unfolded to her the mysteries of His purpose...the "lady" that washed his feet was not appreciated by the religious crowd....His preaching buddies were the unwanted tax collector, the crude fishermen, the unlearned and ignorant...the unwanted......yet it was the poor that catered to Him...only a few rich came around....
The pretty, pious and powerful stayed in the synagogues.
Most of His followers were the ragtag men and women of His day....yet these mostly ragtag men and women turned the world upside down! For 49 years I have worked with mostly the same class of people and "begged" for them...with begged for funds they have built churches all over Brazil. Today many of those churches are beautiful...but it was not always like that...many of the pastors were street kids or poor kids we helped along the way...today some are school teachers, nurses, missionaries and pastors...I am glad I begged for help for them...
Just like them are another host of children I am trying to live long enough to help them become something in life...Sorry but I will continue to beg....The next time someone says, "The poor you will always have with you..." Be sure to complete the sentence: "Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land."

Re: Help us

Personally, I don't have an issue with someone asking for donations. Especially a missionary or evangelist, etc. I wouldn't have an issue with someone asking for help due to a natural disaster, either. The issue for me is the constant posting of separate threads for the same request.

For example, today there have been two separate threads already created with the same topic title and same subject.

In the past two weeks there have been seven total threads created asking for donations.

8/28, 8/29, 8/31, 9/01, 9/07 and two today.

I understand the need and understand posting a request for donations. But two threads in one day and seven in the past two weeks is overkill, IMO.

Re: Help us

Forgive me if I post too much...I try to explain what we are doing and it is ok for people to question. If it comes up on two threads I usually try to explain.

You don't have to open the threads.
