Michael Laufer stated :
“To deny someone access to a lifesaving medication is murder."
Some would discount this as a meaningless appeal to emotion. However, I highly doubt someone would argue that you shouldn't be so emotional when you're watching a loved one die simply because they couldn't afford the necessary care they needed to prolong or preserve their life. This is why Laufer, and men like him, feel opening up access to these drugs is absolutely necessary.
I find his statement to be quite true morally. To deny someone access to lifesaving medication simply because they don't have cold hard cash is indeed...murder. In fact, it is sacrificing a human life on the altar of financial profit.
There is a glaring deception that is infecting the minds on both the left and the right. On the left, they don't believe it is "murder" to abort a child. On the right, they don't think it is "murder" to deny that same child life saving medication if they were 33 years old and uninsured. We need a "gold standard" on the value of human life. One that goes beyond the paradigms of both the left and the right. One that is...
Christian. A value of human life that takes the stand of being dedicated to teaching all of society that we are indeed our brother's keeper.
