Alcoholism destroys families and lives. We should separate from it for the sake of others, one persons liberty can be another person's destruction.
Maybe early civilizations incorporated wine in a much different manner then we do. In our civilization, if someone sees a us drinking wine it gives them a false sense of liberty to consume alcohol to their destruction.
We are not at the point where preachers are setting boundaries that are too constraining. We are at the point where worldliness is drowning out the voice of God. We are at the point where it's more important to receive a person's tithes, then preach against sin and worldliness and have a person walk.
We have bucked the old paths and bucked and bucked till some have become wearied with making a stand, but you will reap the results with your kids and grandkids because they will lose the message altogether. They will think nothing of having children out of wedlock, or having a drink at the local bar, or watching the worst perversions on media.
If you are so keen to tell the truth about alcohol please include statistics on ruined lives.

Preachers have preached against things that they don’t have clear scripture to support. They have made doctrine out of things that should be left to personal conviction. They are scared 😱 to death 💀 that they are going to overlook some sin.
Meanwhile they overlook teaching that the Holy Ghost will lead you and guide you unto ALL truth. They forget about where it says the Holy Ghost will be our teacher. Because they think 🤔 that is their job. They think they are the shepherd, but they forgot that He is the Shepherd.
Drunkenness is sinful, drinking is not.
Gluttony is sinful, eating is not, especially in the Pentecostal Church.
Calling something sin, that Jesus did, seems sinful to me, regardless of how we attempt to justify it.

Elders are to be examples to be followed, we are not all a law unto ourselves.
1 Corinthians 11King James Version (KJV)
11..Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
2..Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.

Did you say “followers of Christ”? Did Christ drink 🍷 wine?
Do you get my point yet?
Did the apostles drink 🍷 wine 🍷?
Are we apostolic?
Need I say more?

So the curse of Hab 2 only applies to sexual situations and not the alcohol that causes it?
Notice it says "look on", not defile.
Just like the situation of Ham/Noah.

Re: Wine vs Grape Juice
I think Paul recommended "wine" as medicine.
Today's saints are not using Dr. Paul's prescription properly, anymore.

Sean, did Jesus take it for medicine? How about Peter, James, John, . . .
There must have been an epidemic 😷 of sickness sweeping through the early church. The OBVIOUS truth is that they drank wine. Routinely. Kind of like we think of the Italians today.
You have a hang-up about drinking, like you did have about tithing. The drinking issue just doesn’t hit as close to home?

(Hint: Don't talk to Sean. Waste of time.)

Nope...they sure are taking a lot of pain killers, antidepressents, antipsychotics though.
I got Pentecostal family that will blast you for having a Corona in your fridge but they pop them pills and get all loopy and post all kinds of crazy stuff on your facebook wall to the point where I had to lock down my account and block some people....I mean geez I wasnt THAT bad even when I drank like a fish!
What Im seeing is "Oh we can be as crazy as we want just as long as that craziness doesnt come from alcohol"
Moderation and temperence is good behavior no matter what you are under the influence of.

I think we are related..... I have the same family members.
The only incoherents that Spirit filled saints should be using is for serious medical conditions.
How can the Lord communicate to us and through us when we are buzzin or crocked?
I think we excommunicate ourselves from ministry when we crack a beer or pop a pill, unless we are in pain, etc.
Side note....
There is only one poster on this entire forum that comes to mind that needs meds to get his temper under control....LOL
