Also, in a heads up comparison of the half shekel and the tithe doctrine, (I’m aware all tithe doctrines are not the same), which is more true to scripture, and why?
And if you could start from scratch, with a brand new church and you are the pastor, what would you teach for a giving doctrine?

There is no such thing as the full Denari doctrine. That's my humor. I posted how we do it at our church family. I never ask for needs or offering from over the pulpit. No velvet sock with handle or golden plate is passed. No one is preached up or down to give, God provides. If you don't want to give, or you don't have to give, or want to give as much as you are capable it is between you and Jesus. You know all about OT Tithing? Then you know how Israel would neglect the Levites to the point where the Levites had to forsake their duties and take care of themselves
Deuteronomy 12:19,
Nehemiah 10:37-39,
Nehemiah 13:10. The Bible teaches us that those who were expected to follow the Law, and precepts of God really just viewed these rules and observances as something that could be loopholed to death. Hence the reason the Pharisees created volumes of Talmud to get around the Law of God. To this day we have more doctrines then you could shake a stick at. If the Internet taught us anything that it gave a platform to the disgruntled and cranky. Those who always wanted to be able to voice their opinion and knock down the preacher. Always under the guise of "wanting to be Biblically correct" but while they hold tightly to their "Bible Truth" they themselves have doctrines which are not their candy stick but are as false as a rubber chicken. Therefore while some would like to filet the pastor for his teaching on tithes and offering, they themselves have multiple heretical planks in their eyes. Yet, truth should be conveyed, but listen, you have a hodgepodge of beliefs and maybe even myths held by individuals for years. It takes time for anyone to see anything. But there are those who believe in something because they were told it by those they love, or elders who they respected. We come along all bright eyed and bushy tailed thinking we are going to give manna from the keyboard, but ends up being stench and death to their nostrils. These brothers and sisters aren't wicked for teaching something they were once told. They are sincerely ignorant, but doing it with sincerity.
Where you have someone who knows better, because they really know the truth but are doing that which is false. Then you have a problem. The Judean Rabbis in the first century totally understood who Jesus was. Nicodemus indicates that in John. So, we have to consider things before anyone burns Brother Pylant in effigy, we have to consider somethings. So, instead of walking Brother Pylant off the the plank to the righteous ecclesiastical sharks below. Just teach what you think about tithing.
