Finding one's identity in anything outside of Christ and Him crucified is IDOLATRY.
Think "Baptist Identity", "Methodist Identity", "Catholic Identity"... It's measuring ourselves ourselves by ourselves.
We don't need "Apostolic Identity", or movement worship... We need more JESUS.

You didn't miss anything, Aquila (re. the forum in question).
I totally agree, and see no New Testament push to imitate or idolize the Apostles. Much of what passes as "Apostolic Identity" has nothing to do with first century Christianity. It is instead a contrived subculture that developed as an offshoot of 19th century American Methodism.
