God is a Spirit, and a singular one at that. That same heavenly Spirit clothed itself in human flesh and was called Jesus. The same Spirit returned as our Comforter on the Day of Pentecost as the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost). Because our God is omnipresent, He was never not present in Heaven while wrapped in flesh, nor vice versa.

That's the way I've heard explained a time or two to me, and it just made sense. God bless!
