That's what I heard some years ago. Can't verify it of course. I heard it a handful of times from UPCi circles and then was surprised when a Wesley Methodist lady I used to work with related the exact same story about one of their preacher's traveling to one of their conferences. Not sure if it's ever been told in a Stoneking message or not but sounds like good preaching material..

Re: Brother Lee Stoneking's Preaching

I remember hearing Stoneking tell a story about him holding a dying person and feeling their soul pass through him. This was probably from the late 1990s. Not sure if anyone else knows of that. Not adhereing to the immortal soul belief I was skeptical. But he was there so... However he backed this up based on an old experiment which compared body weight prior to and after death. Anyway I remember it got everyone roused up because this was proof of the spirit world or afterlife or something.

Those 80s stories were awesome.

And the drilling company who heard screaming from deep in the earth....

I recall the story about the angel. R. Heard mentioned it at a crusade I attended in 1986. But I specifically remember it was cosmonauts who saw it. Unless that was a different version of the same event or a completely different sighting. Cosmonauts seeing angels in space would truly be amazing! They would probably be told to keep that quiet.

Anyway as someone else posted preaching the gospel and instilling faith in people doesn't need to include sensational or unverifiable stories. The facts of the miners story have also been changed from retelling over the years.

Bro. Beni, what is it about us that we leap over tall buildings in order to reach for a gimmick?

The drilling company that heard the screams in hell...was that to reinforce our belief in a literal hell? Or maybe to scare folks to the altar?

Magic hair...to validate uncut hair?

Angels riding in the car...I do believe it is possible, but did hearing that cause anyone to run for repentance? And do I need to hear that to draw in the reins of my mind to the fact that He's coming soon?

No offense against preachers...I have 3 brothers who are ministers, but do folks need these stories, be they true or false, in order to get a point across?

Yes, there's certainly more in the Bible to preach about than the Book of Acts, important and necessary that it is, but is not the death, burial, and resurrection not enough to bring conviction without the spectacular and sometimes ridiculous!? It just seems to me that the Message of salvation stands all by itself...

I apologize if this is out of order...

You're likely right about it being cosmonauts. It was very long ago and I may have remembered wrong.

I'd ask my father, but that could result in a very long conversation about the end times and everything. My father is awesome. He'll fall asleep within a few minutes at small talk, but start talking about anything relating to church, the Bible or especially the end times/prophecy and he will talk for HOURS...
