nope - there is no excuse for the crime
the punishment should fit the crime...
someone who stole or murdered someone - should be treated differently than the man who brought his family across a border for the hopes of a better life, an education and healthcare.
how about for every illegal we allow in, we export one lazy welfare recepient?
