What transpires when God opens up the "windows of heaven"?

2 Kings 7:2
Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

A few years ago we also had an evangelist come through, we were instructed to nail handkerchiefs to wooden stakes pray over them, anoint them with oil, and drive them into the ground at the four corners of our city. Regardless of the spiritual mechanics anyone believes is at work in spiritual warfare... clearly Scripture teaches us that there is indeed a demonic spiritual realm that is a reality beyond our natural awareness. Demons are confronted, bound, cast out, and people are delivered.

BUT not every time we read "principalities, powers" does it necessarily refer to human powers.

Can you cite the specific places where principalities and powers refer to demons or non human entities? And why Paul didn't make any kind of clarification or explanation of the term, lest people get the wrong idea?

Right here Ephesians 2:2 "Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince (which is short for principality) of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:"

This defines what is said in Ephesians 6:12. He says plainly what Principalities and powers he's referring to even allowing you to know that they are a "spirit at work".

Just as we know from looking at Daniel 10:13 "Michael, one of the chief prince, came to help me." Here we see another force at work. So we don't have to wonder about "The price of Persia" it all is explained in these 2 verses. Now the 2 Kings I'm lost on that one I'll be honest. But the Bible explains itself here.

Explain power of the air. Also explain how the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience is a non human conscious entity controlling a hierarchy of fallen angels or other god-like beings that we are to supposedly wrestle against, rather than it being the spirit of rebellion common to sinful man.
