Doesn't bother me. I know there's good and bad with every organization. Recently I've come across more bad than good in relation to my once-beloved organization.
I'd list them, but I'd be marked with an infraction for tearing down the ministry. *grin*
To be fair, I've also seen good in a few ministers who are licensed with the organization. I've made friends of ministers who are UPC and non-denominational, both liberal and conservative.
So it doesn't bother me to see threads questioning certain things about the organization:
The hypocrisy of allowing internet ministries, but not allowing television ads;
The extremes in dress standards that go beyond practical Biblical standards; and
The stupidity of yanking license over a pastor owning a television, but allowing a pastor who could be a certified psychological liar to continue holding both a district position and remain an ordained minister in good standing.
See, I regard the UPC as family. And as such, I feel it's my right to be able to question it when it makes mistakes. I'll also be there to help celebrate in its moments of greatness.
Grow some skin. Learn that the UPC isn't a perfect organization as long as it's run by men and women. It's one of the best oneness organizations, but it's not perfect. Far from it.
