I would like to see NLC grow, as Rick Warren states, "larger and smaller at the same time." Larger because people are getting saved and smaller because people are getting into small groups where everyone can use their gifts.
NLC is a very racially diverse church. We have different "colors" on our platform in our worship band, and different "colors" on our ordained ministerial staff and in other places of serving like ushers, children's church etc. It is not something that we have done as a marketing "ploy" it is just something that has happened.
I pray that God does whatever He has to do to help any church become more effective for the Kingdom no matter what size they are. God doesn't have a "number" that he wants churches to be at attendance wise. Any number will work if it is organized properly and folks are encouraged to join small groups and ministries.

The focus of our church is not the weekend services, but rather the small groups the meet all over the city. All areas of ministry takes place in the small group, prayer, salvations, baptisms, communion and mentoring. The church consists of the people not the building or even services, we should not just do church but rather be the church. The weekend services are for celebration of what God is doing, testimonies and practical teaching.
If folks don't grow to a personal relationship with God, they will constantly require spoonfeeding. Every mature believer should be able to lead a small group, but the problem is the church is not equipped to deal with the kind of growth that this will produce. It can only be directed by the Holy Spirit, and it is messy.
