Re: No Pizza For You Before Bed!
I do believe we should warn sinners of the judgement, but I want to put my focus on the good news of the gospel. I have problems with puttting children on the front lines before they have gotten old enough to sort things out. That child was only speaking the things that she had been hearing all of her short life. There is gonna be a day when that child is going to start deciding what she believes for herself and being a church kid shouldn't be a horror story in her life. It may excite people to hear a small child on the internet that backs up their eschatology, but I wonder why such a heavy burden is placed upon a little girl.
My kids have drawn many people to our church and it wasn't through scary stories. Instead it was through their loving innocence. We had a neigbor to our church who walked her dog around the block and my kids started approaching her to talk to her about her dog (they had no alterior motive, but they were just interested in the little dog). Later they got on a first name basis with this lady. Then the kids started wanting to bring this lady plate dinners from our potlucks.
My children where outreaching this lady and not even realizing what they were doing. This lady recently was sent to a nursing and my children still want to go and visit and see how she is doing. It amazes me how my kids have taken with this elderly lady in what may be the final years of her life. I can tell other stories of people that probably wouldn't have been at our church if it werent for our children while they were small. (Now they are becoming teenagers and wheww)
I have had people to tell me that my children is the reason our church is growing. lol. I guess they are right in more than one way, because we are expecting our fourth child this October. lol.
