Essentially, the solution is a paradigm shift, a new (actually ancient) way of looking at life, marriage, family, community, and society. By changing the way of thinking about things, changes in behavior and choices follow. Money is spent differently, priorities are different, what is supported is different, etc. A transformation takes place by the renewing of our minds, just like Scripture teaches.

This is essentially the creation and building of a completely alternative society, at first "underground", but over time it spreads and grows until it not only competes with the existing social order, but overtakes it and displaces it.

This is nothing less than the Kingdom of God increasing and filling all the earth, as Daniel 2 and the vision of the Stone Kingdom prefigures.

Like the mustard seed that grows into a tree, the Kingdom starts small and insignificantly, but expands until it essentially becomes the dominant tree.

Next, I will look at how this affects the local church. I will also examine the current state of relative ineffectiness or lack of relevance being enjoyed by many churches here in the West, and the solution, because it is directly tied to this subject.

I will also, Lord willing, post an easy to implement Plan of Action for churches, that (if put into practice) will facilitate the Paradigm Shift being spoken of here. Families influence the local church, but the local church also influences families. It is a self-supporting and self-sustaining cycle of mutual dependence, because after all a local church is really a community of families in covenant with God and one another.
