I'm independent myself. I don't particularly care which fellowship, if any, someone operates under as long as they preach and uphold Truth.

Differences?
Not many and exist mainly at the local level.
Overall, I would say that the WPF is more conservative and the ALJC is more liberal. Although there are exceptions in both.
I know my church supports missionaries affiliated with the WPF.

Occasionally, a preacher fills in during my Pastor's absence, and he's under a pastor and involved in an ALJC congregation. I know he and his family, nor his church for that matter, are as conservative as my church is. It's mostly minor things that opinions always differ on, and considering their spirit is clean and humble, I love them and see no issues with their lifestyles.

From the feel I've gotten, the ALJC have the "liberal vibe" in Apostolicism. They are holiness, but their expectations may, for the lack of a better word, be lower than the UPC, the WPF, and many independent fellowships and ministries.

It means he is no longer saved.

Is that what you were looking for?

Seriously, it means what it says, ex comes from the Greek έξω meaning out. Therefore ex-UPC would mean he left the organization to join a church where the ministers preach barefoot. I think from what I read over the years from his posts he had traumatic experiences where he wan't allowed to play card games, or monopoly. Was never allowed to remove his shoes during service. had to wear white gloves, and a top hat. Also he had to hitch his buggy and horse across the street from the church. He also wasn't allowed running water, or electricity because flowing things were of the devil. He had to cut his hair in a tonsure and had to shave his face including his eyebrows.

Well, I didn't know by "ex" if he meant "anti" in any way.

It seems he just isn't with a denomination anymore.

I've attended UPCI and ALJC churches but today I'm independent. UPCI is said to be more conservative than ALJC. But that doesn't mean that there aren't liberal UPCI or conservative ALJC churches.

I believe that when Christianity started in Judea it was a fellowship. When Christianity spread to Greece it became a philosophy. When it spread into Italy, it became an institution. When it finally saturated Europe, Christianity became a culture. And after spreading to America, Christianity became an enterprise.

I see these organizations as simply incorporated franchises of Apostolic Christianity.

I've read this online on a lot of different websites. It's true though.

imagine that in this day and age, prejudice against iTALIANS.
What do you mean it became an institution? You think Italians go around creating institutions? Meanwhile the Greeks sit around all day drinking ouzo, and playing with komboloi. Yeah, the Greeks big philosophers, meanwhile the Italians are busy doing the work, getting things done. But do they get positive credit? No, that is reserved for Greeks, drinking coffee, playing cards, tossing komboloi. Listen, if it wasn't for the Italians you would all be in mud huts painting your skin blue.
