Re: That period Bro Flame decided to "go charismat
We have so much going on in our life, that I honestly don't place much emphasis on getting back to an online forum. Yes, I know I initiated this forum, but I had honestly forgotten about it. With being married, having a toddler, preaching, helping at church, helping with my dad, helping with my mom, working, endless parade of adult responsibilites, I just hadn't made it back here.
Well, until today, that is. It has been extremely slow at work today, and I randomly had a thought pop into my head: "Hey, you haven't been on AFF in a really long time."
So, ask your questions and I will answer them the best that I can.
To get us started...
Yes, I did have a near-death car wreck back in July 2024. I spent some thirty-two days in the hospital. Had it not been for the hand of God and the prayers of some good Holy Ghost-filled people, I wouldn't be here today typing a respone on AFF.
I do acknowledge that I have previously deserted conversations. My reason is usually because I don't wish to get into an argument on an online forum. I just post my opinions, my beliefs, my convictions, and leave. Yes, I realize that is aggravating for those that wish to engage or ask questions. Sometimes, too, as I've already mentioned, I simply forget what I have posted and therefore I never get back to it.
I'm rarely on AFF anymore.

I was glad to come on and see this post from you.
I read you post, and I feel for you. Living this way, the “ups” and “downs” of your walk can get “seasick” at times. And confusion can come into play and really just mess things up. Correct me if I’m wrong, it just seems like the majority of your posts have been about something you did, something you wore, something you saw, which led you to backsliding and loosing out with your relationship with God.
Please understand your relationship with God is so much more than just the things you mentioned. God cares about you! He desires for you to see yourself as he sees you. He counted you worthy of his blood, he counted you worthy to hear his sweet voice, to feel his hair raising presence. Understand that!
I remember a time when it was notorious for people to preach against almost everything. No TVs, no internet, no rings, no tassels on their shoes (I’m not kidding), no pleats on pants, definitely no watches, etc.. It was almost getting competitive as to see who can preach against the newest thing! When I first started preaching I would preach the same because that’s what I heard others do, thank God for his correction and mercy! Until I realized I didn’t have the same beliefs and “convictions” as others did. That’s when I realized I had to get this for myself and not live this life for others, or because of others.
Years ago believers preached against the automobile, then the radio came out, so they stopped preaching against the automobile. So they preached against the radio, until the TV came out and they started preaching against the TV and they allowed the radio. Then the internet made its way, and preachers preached against the internet and let down their stance on TV. Now, people bring their phones with them into the bathroom, and record their services, and watch anything anywhere.
I said that to say if your just going to follow who can preach against ________, then your going to have an up and down relationship.
A minister came and preached a youth meeting several years ago, and he wore rings . He did a great job, wonderful services, used of God greatly.
Please seek a more fruitful relationship, one not on sand but rather on the rock..
Praying for you.
