This is true. My understanding of the purpose of the church is to get people to Jesus Christ and surrendered to Him. I personally don't care if that happens in service on Sunday morning, at a cell group in someone's home, in a new member class, or some other class. Different people receive things differently in different venues. My desire to get them to the cross whatever it takes. If I have to look like an idiot to do it, then so be it. (no comments please )
If we're not careful and we'll be saying that it's Ac. 2:38 AND people must get it on Sunday in the service at the front etc, etc, etc.
Core beliefs are core beliefs. EVERYONE who becomes a member at NLC hears the the Ac. 2:38 message without exception, because I am the one who teaches it. They also hear that it is more important to give their life to Jesus Christ than it is to follow our doctrine. I'll work with ANYONE who has give their heart, soul, mind and strength to Him. They'll get there. But you can keep every single RELIGIOUS doctrine touter who "knows" they have truth because you can smell it in their arrogance. If I could get them to Jesus Christ, they could have hope as well.
I can't imagine Bro. Coonskinner being of that mindset. He seems to be a very erudite individual.
I think CS does believe there are standards that are salvational. But I will let him declare what he will in that regard.
But just for the record, I respect CS and we have discussed many things over the years, however, my question to him was simply asking sincerly what direction that he was going with this thread.
Part of the reason for the sudden drop is because we have realized how much we appreciate each other, even in our disagreement. Some folks just didn't want to win an argument and lose a friend in the process.

You speak wisdom in this post.... this is what we desire here on AFF....
"agreeing to disagree" is sometimes the best resolution to come to....
