Bro. Sam, Phoebe was a deaconess at the Church, not a pastor. She was like a minister, but she did not lead as pastor.

William..."she was like a minister" just what do you mean by that statement? She must have been a missionary in deep dark Africa baptizing in the infested creeks...lol...do better than that my boy...
Have you not read which council took the women out of the pulpits? We are quick to note which one changed the mode of baptism...

We forget the word brother in many languages includes sisters...We must remember the Bible was written to a world with customs of long ago. Learning their customs does NOT change the word of God but enlightens it to our understanding.

I did not say that she did not preach. I said she was not in leadership. She was not a pastor, but a minister. This is what I am speaking of.

remember the admonition of Paul that he suffered not a woman to teach or usurp authority. She had to be under authority. This is what is saying. I did not say she could not teach, bu that her teaching could not be in usurping authority. In other words, she could not be a pastor/bishop.

Momma A, you are under the authority of your husband. You preach. This si where it falls into play.

The title of the thread is misleading.

Can Females Pastor ?

OF COURSE A FEMALE CAN PASTOR!

See it ever day, even in Pentecostal/Apostolic churches.

But is there a Biblical prescient for a woman to pastor?

JT, I sat down with a good brother named Troy, and we discussed this issue at length. He convinced me of the ability of a woman to preach, but not pastor. I agreed with him on this. It ain't dancing around. It is walking in knowledge as one reads and studies as time passes.

Sure thing my friend. Walk there in....But most men can tell you that the wife runs the home. Not as in authority, but making the home sun smooth. Men wear the pants in the family, but only the pants the wife tells them to wear.
