I think (my opinion) that any pastor who believes ALL the tithes belong to HIM no matter what the amount is whether it is $800 or $8M is a thief and a robber of the people. No man is worth that much. ($8M)
I believe that a pastor should have a salary with benefits just like everyone else. Now if the congregation wants to pay the pastor that much, that is different, but I don't think the pastor should do anything less than full disclosure to the people annually of where ALL the money was spent and exactly how much he makes. I have personally done that for for almost 2 decades and have NEVER had a problem.
Truth sets people free and financial truth engenders much TRUST. When things are hidden, there is usually a reason and not a good one.
