The green one????????

Ha!

You are a young fellow!

I was raised on the soft covered yellow one. They were bought for .35 cents each direct from 3545 S. Grand Blvd. St. Louis, Mo. We had a song book whose covers were usually torn off before too long, and a funeral home fan on our handmade wooden benches.

Popsy Gibson, Sister Mangun's father told me that in 1930 or 40 something that she was on the platform in Whiteway Tabernacle. She stood to sing and God sent an earthquake in the building that shook for quite a while. The power of God was so strong in the place but in all the shaking, there was not one thing broken.

Sister Willie Johnson...nevah no one quite like the Sista, now gone on to be with her Lord.

Anyone interested, I think Hugh Rose in Ohio may have some old tapes of her. She used to go there a lot.
Sister Johnson was an icon in this part of the world.

However, we use "don't ever" when used in an imperative sentence. Don't never is declarative, don't ever is imperative.

Bro

Does this mean that You really WOULD take nothin' for Your journey now?

OR

WOULDN'T take nothin'

OR

would You take somethin'?

Bro. Strange,

What memories you stirred up with this song.

Haven't heard this one in many years. When

someone would crank this one up in a revival

service, everyone and everything that was alive

would begin to move!

Blessings,

I remember this too, however I was under the impression that this type of thing was regarded now as the dreaded and despised "emotionalism." You know, crank up the slap-happy music that gets people movin' = emotionalism.
