Some of the words to:
"Let Me Tell You Who Jesus Is"
Let me tell you who Jesus is
He's the rock of all ages
He's the heavenly father
He's the Alpha & the Omega
The beginning and the end
And what's more my friend
He's coming back again....
That's all I remember..
Close
Let me tell you who Jesus is
He's the Rock of all Ages
He's the Alpha and the Omega
He's the Heavenly Father
He's the Beginning and the End
But more than this, my friend
He's the Son of Man
He's coming back again

Man I was raised on the green hymnal and all those old chorus'....and I'm not old......
The green one????????
Ha!
You are a young fellow!
I was raised on the soft covered yellow one. They were bought for .35 cents each direct from 3545 S. Grand Blvd. St. Louis, Mo. We had a song book whose covers were usually torn off before too long, and a funeral home fan on our handmade wooden benches.
Sista Willie Johnson. Yup. I knew her too. She wore a black cape with a red liner. She would swing that cape from side to side as she would wail with her songs and preaching.
Popsy Gibson, Sister Mangun's father told me that in 1930 or 40 something that she was on the platform in Whiteway Tabernacle. She stood to sing and God sent an earthquake in the building that shook for quite a while. The power of God was so strong in the place but in all the shaking, there was not one thing broken.
Sister Willie Johnson...nevah no one quite like the Sista, now gone on to be with her Lord.
Anyone interested, I think Hugh Rose in Ohio may have some old tapes of her. She used to go there a lot.
Sister Johnson was an icon in this part of the world.
I remember this too, however I was under the impression that this type of thing was regarded now as the dreaded and despised "emotionalism." You know, crank up the slap-happy music that gets people movin' = emotionalism.
