I was apart of the Virginia District of UPC for 17 years.
It was not until after I left UPC that I found out how radical some districts are.
UPC or any Acts2:38 Preacher should be allowed on TV.
Remember the servant and the Five talents??
UPC should not hide their talent in the Earth because of fear of loosing truth.
TV could put Acts2;38 in the homes of many Trinitarians and sinners seeking for God.
No grenades in my pocket, Just Kryptonite.

I have been in the UPC for over 20 years and have attended several different churches. I don't recall anyone ever preaching against having a TV. I have heard some preaching against the content.

I can't speak for PM, but, in my opinion, a control issue is what it's become. I think that banning tv in the UPCI served its purpose, but the tiime has come to make a change.

What I'm saying is that it's about preachers controlling what other preachers can or can not do! Nobody is telling ANY pastor that he MUST advertise on TV! As I see it, a pastor can remain as strict against TV as ever for his local congregation.
It's about the more conservative preachers determining what the other preachers are allowed or not allowed to do to reach their communities. That's why I say it's all about CONTROL!

Hogwash. Take out your posts that have 'UPC' in them and you wouldn't have enough to fill a thimble.
I know many people who are not 'pro-UPC' but don't spend their time and energy blaming it for all the problems in their life.
It gets old and borders on the ridiculous.
