Can't you just hear some of these guys at Pentecost. "Guys and you ladies too, it wouldn't be a bad thing, you know, if you wanted to, to be baptized, but hey, no biggy if you don't. Jesus understands".

If all power is given to Jesus, and Jesus comes into my heart at repentance. Why is there the need for power from the Holy Ghost?

I agree, baptism is a part of our walk with Jesus, no question. There are alot of things that are important in our walk with Jesus.

But where we should focus is preaching faith in the accomplished work of Jesus Christ, this is the gate and we should present it as such.

If we then will teach folks to seek after God as to how He would have them to follow Him, then folks begin a process of maturing in relationship with Christ.

When folks are hammered early on with "you gotta to this or you are none of His", then you have immature believers that don't how to walk on their own.

Why? Because they learned to just follow the instruction that is very forcefully presented from the pulpit rather than following the commands of Jesus as they understand the reasons and need.

This approach allows the preparation of the hearts so that the sovereign Holy Spirit "falls" on them, rather than in a hyper emotional context that leaves them wondering, "what on earth just happened to me, was that really God."

I know that there is no virtue in water, but do we handle MARK:16:16?
I figure Jesus meant what He said, perhaps I'm not the brighest bulb on the chain, that verse knocks me out of being a fundamentalist.

This is an interesting scripture don't you think?

Romans 4.5 "But to him who DOES NOT WORK but BELIEVES on Him who justifies the UNGODLY, his FAITH is accounted for righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness APART FROM WORKS.

That's right Bro. Scott, he who does not believe is in trouble (Mark 16.16).

Though man is reconciled to God, thru the blood, a man must believe it or he will not enter into the Door (Jesus).

Hey, your bulb seems to be shining rather brightly in you avatar.
