For those of you who are pushing the "principles without rules" concept, I aver that you ARE going to draw a line somewhere! Why is it that where the conservatives draw the line is off base and where you draw the line is right on target?
Phil,
You are missing the point of what we are saying. I suppose the old adage would explain it best, "Don't skin the fish until you get it in the boat."

I'm sure I don't have to explain the totality of that statement, except that, if you do try to skin it first, you took away the principle and left only a rule.

so, for your bikini wearing family member:
1. It is her issue and not yours
but, if you are trying to get uniformity in YOUR church,
2. you have an issue that needs to be remedied by a rule.

If you share the witness (your testimony) of the principle without adding or subtracting anything, you have done your part and the Holy Ghost will have to do its part and the family member will have to do their part.

Will you family member's heart be any more right with God if she does not wear a bikini but desires to wear one?

Please Phil, count me in the crowd that actually believes I CAN NOT draw a line for another member of God's body, and the heart is never able to be transformed by a rule.

Sister when you and TB, get to General Conference you all need to shout!

This is what we sing in service down here in Fort Lauderdale Florida.

We are happy people yes were are

We are happy people yes were are

Been baptized in Jesus Name

Spoke in tongues when the Holy Ghost came

We are happy people yes we are.

Holy Ghost!

I will in prayer for you and TB, to get some shouting underway.

Do you use a tambourine when you are praising God? Maybe picking up the tambourine and then taking off and running around the pews will get you happy!

Lord bless you Sister.

In Jesus name

I understood that TB and Felicity don't think you have to speak in tongues as evidence of the Holy Ghost. She can correct me.

Wrong. We do consider tongues evidence of the Holy Ghost baptism.

Did you say that you don't think people have to speak in tongues, but you encourage it?

I cannot argue with your statements... experience is not up for debate... I do find it hard that you don't draw any lines at all. You almost sound like Pastor Tribble and his willingness to let the tube top chick lead singing!

As to the string bikini, you are just skeerd of your sweet wife!

Okey Dokey then, you are duly counted!

You're a little mixed up PO. LOL.

You don't have to speak in tongues to be regenerated but when you receive the baptism of the Spirit as the believers and disciples did on the DOP then you will speak in tongues. Absolutely.
