Concerning the chapters in Deut that you make some allusion to.... I'm not going to continue this conversation with someone who forces me to spend my own good time to educate myself on what I think you might be saying.

Numbers 18.... it tells the Levites what to do with the tithe... and it is exactly where I get my information about who much they kept for themselves without sinning. One would need to keep reading to see that though.
If you read
Numbers 18:21 and then stop reading then your take is what they will get from the reading. If one were to simply keep reading they would see that
Numbers 18:21 is simply the beginning of the instruction and is letting them know that the tithe has been put in their charge. Further down they are told what portion they may count as their own without sin.
