Bro. Epley, that is NOT my point of view. I believe those who do right will reap their own good reward. There's nothing wrong with giving honour to those who have kept themselves pure. But does it have to be done by publicly dishonouring those who have not?

I believe that commitment in marriage and purity before it are things worthy of honour. I'm quite sure that every single person that has posted on this thread agrees with that.

You mentioned rewarding someone who makes A's...we reward our kids for good grades...but we DON'T put down a child who makes a B in order to make the child who makes an A look better by contrast.

It is not always about rewards here. God is giving the rewards.

You are making judgements based on what you can see, not what you can't. Only God knows if their hearts are pure.

Nope never reward a child for telling the truth-staying pure-being faithful for fear you will offend the liar-the fornicator-the unfaithful.
Give them all A's-make no difference between the clean and those who fail.
Have you every read the Gospels.
The man who used his talents was rewarded and the one who did nothing had that taken away.

The modern gospels tell us that we must add all the talents together both the ones the were given initially and the ones that were earned by the faithful. Then we should divide them equally amongst everyone so that nobody feels bad about how many talents that they have. After a little while all of the talents should be accounted for again and then redistributed so that those who have squandered what they had can be "blessed" again. This process should continue until there are no talents left.

I agree.

And will add that I would never allow an expect woman to had a wedding at the church, she gave that up for a moment of pleasure.

Well we would have to assume that the man forfeited his right to have the big wedding also. Unless of course you think that maybe he had the big one out there in the church while the woman was in the office signing the paper work

LOL

Oh come on...that isn't punishment for a man. How about a proper chastisement, like NO WEDDING NIGHT FUN. LOL!!!

That's what I say should happen...if impure women are punished by denying them a church wedding and/or the pretty white dress, then the impure men must lock themselves in a room on their wedding night and deny themselves their newfound freedom. THAT would be an equivalent punishment. If we must punish them. Let's just get happy with it.

I still say that the ones who "claim" to be virgins should have to PROVE it with their bedsheets. But of course, the you have the problem...since there's no way to prove the man is a virgin, is there...and then you're just back, full circle, TRUSTING people to be honest. Hmmm.
