Au Contraire.... I have family (one woman living by herself) and her house was completely packed like that. When you went to visit you had to move things around to sit on the couch and there was one trail that led from the living room to the bathroom and back to the one bedroom that still had a trail available.
Her daughter and granddaughter live in one home and it is exactly the same way.
