JTullock, their hearts have to be breaking. We did foster care for many children. And both of our boys were adopted after their parent's right had been terminated.
With our boys things turned out wonderfully. But in several of the cases of the foster children, I watched as they were returned to parents who not only shouldn't have the children - they really should have been in jail!! It is a painful thing to watch happen to a child. My only consolation in all of this was reminding myself that even if they had to go back according to the judge, at least for a short period of time they had known what it was like to be in a place where they were loved and cherished. My hope was and is that for some of these little ones, they will latch onto that as they grow up. I know I'm probably looking through
but frankly, sometimes we do that just to be able to survive.
I am in prayer for your friends and for their little one. I am praying that the judge will hear himself saying words that come out of his mouth that he never intended to say. Words like, "all parental rights are terminated." God, who loves this child even more than your friends do, CAN do that if He so chooses.
