I too come from a large family. At a recent family reunion we had 400 present - about half the total number of living decendents of my grandparents.

Unfortunately in today's culture of the "fearful and unbelieving" large families are no longer look at with respect. But that is not the attitude of our God, who is a God of life, and He has placed in the earth all the resources required for man's existence. Conservation is necessary, yet not to the determent of man.

Growing up in a large family requires selflessness and giving, very little place for self-centeredness.
