The 40 day flood was a joint venture between God, Enoch, Methuselah and Noah. God planned it, Enoch prophesied it, Methuselah preached it, (his name Methuselah means, "When I die the deluge will come".) He died somewhere, within 2 months and ten days of the flood. Noah condemned the world, by building an ark. (Heb 11:7) God could not have done it without some cooperation from mankind.

I think God can do anything He wants with or without our help.
