I LOVE to hear Bro. Arnold preach. However, from personal experience, I could comment on TN campmeetings...but I shall refrain from doing so.

It's easy to criticize other people's preaching.

Since when do you have to be a preacher to critique or criticize someone? JA preached a men's conference in OK a couple of years ago and some of men felt he insulted everyone the whole time he preached. He's still a great preacher even if he makes a mistake occasionally, and it's ok to voice an opinion about preachers.

You don't. But if you're not, you really don't know what it's like to carry the burden of the responsibility of sharing the Word to an entire camp, conference, etc and so its difficult to have unbias perspective as you offer your critique.
If he stepped on their toes, maybe they were standing in the wrong place to begin with. If the shoe fits.
Maybe God sent him to OK to knock the chip off their shoulders.

Lost,
I hope you know I was just having fun.. I am pretty sure you are doing the same by ignoring me but I just wanted to make sure my conscience was clean as I prepared to preach to a lowly congregation of a hundred or two. Certainly not the weight of a conference or an entire camp in mans eyes... but just as weighty in God's! I hope I don't miss it!

I know there are some problems in Pentecost with some of what he's talking about as do many others.. but bring some game... some depth... and some leadership to the message... not just more he said..she said...
Anybody else notice this???

Was the title of the sermon, "Your vision will be your victory" I have heard him preach that about 7 times.

The personna that JA adopts seemed appropriate back in the mid to late 70's when he was a lot younger and I first heard him.
I went for many years without seeing / hearing him preach and then it was kind of shocking that 25 years later he still put out that "rough" personna.
For those around him a lot through the years it would probably not be shocking but under normal circumstances men get smoother as they get older. It was jarring to see an older man still so rough around the edges.

I'm with you there. Maybe he's slowing down from his yester years or something.

I am OK with being called an ignorant retard and stupid cat etc. by a minister of the gospel... I do expect him to recieve the same from those he preaches to though.
