We're in WI now but moving to either Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, or Queen Creek.
We'll probably actually be signing the paperwork this December.

Be sure to take traffic to work into consideration if you have to go to work everyday! :drivi ng If not you will be driving for a very long time in some very ugly traffic from Chandler or Queen Creek. There are people in my office that drive 2 hours from that area into Scottsdale (Campbell and Scottsdale Road)

I ranked at the cheaper end of the housing in the $50,000 - $75,000 range. Maybe there should be a vote on size and I might rate better as we have 4,000 sq. ft. of living space and 3,000 sq. ft. of garage. : )

Prices in rural Georgia keep going up. My property tax has increased 40% in the last two years.
Pray for me people!

Which is one reason I decided to get out of Houston when I retired. Property taxes are skyrocketing. I still have the house there. It is up for sale. I'll be glad to unload it because of the taxes. It was worth 193,000 in last years apprisal, but prices have come down somewhat.
My E. Texas pineywood home though it is on 20 acres and is about the same size is much less in taxes. Luuuuv it out here. It is so private that I told the wife that we could start a nudist colony. She gave me one of those perplexed looks without saying a word.

Oh wait, thats just Wisconsin.

Move to Texas. Low property taxes by comparison. No income taxes. No taxes on food. Low business taxes too.

Built it 2000 Sq Feet on a 1/3 acre. Total cost in 1996 $124,000.00.
It is now worth $300,000.00 and all I added was an above ground pool.

20 acres of private property like that. Sometimes I think it would be heaven.

We had 6 acres a few years ago. It was wonderful to walk around that property and think ....... "This is mine!"
