you need to pay more attention to "black culture" if you really think that...
Plus, baptism, crosses, speaking in tongues, healings, and praying are part of pagan tribal rituals... Are you suggesting we stop doing/using those things???

Consider the "Sun dance". When native americans are CONVERTED to CHRISTIANITY, should we suggest and promote the native american Sun Dance around our altars?
|
If they are just doing similar dances because its what they do, sure why not? If they are actually doing the sun dance, of course not...
Stepping might have started in Africa as some sort of pagan thing, but it is not that anymore and hasn't been in America for a long time...

There are celtic dances and rituals, and other eurocentric rites that are prevailent among native european "white" culture. Should we endorse that kind of activity around our altars once these "celts" and "druids" are CONVERTED to CHRISTIANITY?
|
You aren't going to believe me, but by and large, we do promote those things... There are tons of European Pagan things that we have taken on and don't even think twice about...

This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE, COLOR, OR CREED.
|
Not on purpose... But it absolutely has to do with the fact that its a different culture and thus they don't like it...
It is human nature to dislike things different from oneself, and that is exactly what is happening here.

It has everything to do with what is appropriate around our CHRISTIAN altars! This has nothing to do with race, it has everything to do with being Christian!
|
If we really wanted to talk about Biblical Christian Altars we wouldn't have altars... A Christian altar is not a stage, but a human heart... We are the Temple of the Holy Ghost, the Temple of God, not some building with a stage...

2 Cor 5:17

Then you need to stop listening to that evil saloon music that you call Southern Gospel...

Phi 3:13-14
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

If you take this this literally, Paul didn't even listen to it, because Paul used and wrote about the philosophy he learned prior to conversion in his letters in the Bible... How can you forget everything that came before yet still use knowledge you acquired before conversion???

2 Cor 6:14-18
for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Hey, you apply this across the board and I'd at least respect the attempt at application... But you aren't going to... You are going to keep white (or converted white) kinds of music (Country & Pop styles plus, at minimum, light rock and even a little hip hop with choirs and such)... But anything deep in "black culture" in America or elsewhere you are going to reject...
