Whatever happend to "out of the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word be established"?

What would you consider a witness? Someone who heard about it or someone who was on the scene and experienced it? And does "every word" really mean every word?
Of course if this were used 99% of the forwards people email me would not get e-mailed.........

I would think that a witness was someone who actually "witnessed " it...but like CC1 said...even then, what is reported by a witness and what is reported fifth or sixth hand down the line of gossips can be totally different things...

As far as this rumor, and several others, about us...no one could have witnessed that which did not happen...

I think I heard of this Happening in a former UltraCon church in the Houston area. I believe this may be the one that Steadfast and Elder Epley are referring to.
