Why do I ask? Some of the very people that have spoken this rumor about us either went to our church and left for standards OR they are preachers I once called friend....so it seems reliable because we once had relationship...some very close....but it is not reliable because not one of them have ever contacted me to ask if it is true....
They go off of hearsay...
So, did you personally speak to the pastor in question and ask HIM DIRECTLY if he did this or not?

Bump for an answer!!

It was told that he did this thing where he cut his wifes hair during a sermon on beig delivered from bondage and he danced around waving the hair like an old time white hanky shout down......
Looking back, and from personal experience, I have serious doubts that this really happened...especially sice I and five others I know where supposed to have down the same thing...and I know we didn't!!!

Can anyone document where this kind of thing has happened?
I don't really have a dog in this fight but I am sometimes fascinated by the ways in which Urban Legends and the like spring up. Did this ever really happen?

Yup. I don't usually consider RG in any serious way. If that wild hair cutting story was true I could see it being him except I think that act would have caused him to have lost his license regardless of any legal threats he might give.
I still think RG must have dirt on a bunch of the Western district officials or he would have been history a long tme ago!!!!
Does he still hold license? I know he did as recent as a year or so ago. If so does he show up at any Western District events?

(See the bolded above...)
Couldn't it also be that despite their reputation for intolerance, the men in question are actually very forebearing in nature and patient in their dealings with a brother they may feel has "gone astray?"

It matters little to me how "connected" they were to the church....we have had this lie, and some worse lies, spun on us by people who had "some type of connection" with us...even family connections...so I say, "so what" to that "some type of connection" bit...
Did they actually talk to the pastor in question or did they just pick up a rumor being propagated by someone who had either left the church and was now running it down or had heard it from someone else who had heard it from someone else, blah, blah, blah.....?
And why won't steadfast answer this question?

I actually think they keep hoping that by ignoring him he will eventually go away...

It was my understanding both men spoke to the pastor in question.
