Abigail always says everything very well. My post was NOT meant as a criticism. I was just noting is all that we both said the same thing basically but Abigail more detailed - which is good - while I'm posting on the fly.

Sheesh.

Sheesh.

I don't think anyone took what you said as being negative.

Okay, thanks Esther. I hope not. It certainly wasn't meant that way.

All of us here recognize and appreciate Abigail's intelligence and ability to communicate.

This is true.

I can tell I missed my 8 hours of sleep last night. I have caught myself leaving words out more than once today.

uh...how is that an "or"? Plenty of Pastors give themselves to prayer and ministry of the word and hold jobs. Your first quote had nothing to do with having a secular job

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

If a church can support a Pastor and He can live and take care of his family without working a second job, that would seem to be ideal.
However if one Pastors a smaller work He may have to be bi-vocational and that's ok.
No matter the size of the work ,all Pastors work.

"Work?" "Support?"

Brother Scott, I've never seen you even get up off that couch!
