And a large reason that Ahmedinejad hates us is because he hates all Jews and Christians... By and large it is our faith that causes him to oppose us...
and nothing in our political system is seeking to assassinate this guy. If we wanted him dead, he'd be dead, period... We don't want him dead, thus he isn't... You aren't supporting any part of our political system wishing for his assassination...

I suppose you'll say that if we want Osama Bin Laden dead, we could make that happen as well?

Well, you can love Adolph Hitler if you want to, but God supports the death penalty.

Hmmmm, are you saying God didn't love Hitler and Mussolini? Somehow that doesn't sound like God. Jesus did dies for them just as well as you and I. They just didn't except it. They choose poorly. You do know it's not God's will that any should perish, but that all come to repentance?
We do not have to like the unlikeable, but we are commanded to love the unlovable. Jesus loved us when we were His enemy. The carnal mind is the enemy of God.
I wonder what would happen if we'd (those who have read this thread) banded together for a season of prayer and fasting for MAD? You think God is powerful enough to give him ample opportunity to repent? What if they only way he'd repent is if his power and country where brought to nothing?
Maybe we'd do well to pray for God's Kingdom to come and His will be done on earth.
For the record :
I DO NOT LIKE AH- MAD-INEJAD. I wish every failure to come his way where his plans involve death and destruction.

the point is that we shouldn't be sitting here wishing he were dead... and, yes, God does support the death penalty, but we aren't suppose to enjoy it...

And for the record, I didn't say that God didn't love him, but God does support the death penalty and I support what God supports. If the man were to die, my feelings wouldn't be hurt.

I am going to have to assume that you are speaking of OT edicts given by God...
God also supported stoning those who commit adultery, pick up sticks on the sabbath etc. The same God who gave the edict to stone the adulterer spoke forgiveness when Jesus told the woman caught in the very act of adultery to go and sin no more.
Is this something God would, in any way, condone today?
Do you feel that the death penalties doled out and supported in the OT have any place in the new and better covenant?
