However, have you ever tried to substantiate the whole plate of "holiness standards" that we serve up? I mean substantiate in a debate-like setting using the Bible.
You get your hat handed to you every time. It took me a while before I realized that what I was really arguing against was that Bible. Once I got on that side of the debate I started to have a lot more success.
I think that's what PP was getting after. We truly need to return to our Biblical roots and preach the message that first generation of pioneers preached a hundred years ago. And not be so concerned with all of the baggage we have added on since.
