I'm somewhat familair with the Branhamites Esther.

my Bro in Law's entire family joined the Branhamites he was the only one who stayed in the UPC.

I can tell you some stories WOW !!

they believe we are all of cain's seed so we're all going to hell.

only the branhamites are of " righteous seed" or from seth's seed

to become of righteous seed, you must believe in the prophet.

they told us this at family gatherings

Yes. it was one of the largest churches in CA. at the time but split over the Branham doctrine and something else too i wont mention here due to it being a touchy situation with a member here.

Esther, the Branhamites believe the would "Beguiled" means the sexual act. when Eve was Beguiled by satan, it means she had sex with him and produced a sinful seed which you and i are of. only those who have accepted " The Prophet" are of "Righteous seed". Your only salvation is to accept William Branham. they have put him on Par with Jesus Christ.

they also believe in "Theophanies". most of them believe he was several Theophanies. He was Elijah, he was the Last prophet to the world, he is the 7th angel in revelation and many believe he was even the final Messiah.

A lot of Branhamites have splintered into small sects and split off from each other. many of them believe they became theophanies of different bible characters such as moses, Enoch, and different ones.

there was one in Phoenix that got a revelation that he was " Daniel from the lions Den" come back to earth. he split off and took a group a started a commune in the rocky mountains.

They also believe that Branham is going to rise again from the dead on one Easter Sunday. They make a pilgrim to his grave on Easter in hopes it will be that year. I know the owner of a bus company in tuscon AZ that takes hundreds of them each year. This event is like their big national gathering

surprisingly, the Branhamite religion is stil growing!

William Branham said every religious movement attracts three kinds of believers: believers, unbelievers and make believers. "Branhamism" (if you want to call it that) is no different.

From my experience the vast majority do not go into extremes of behaviour or belief. The Voice of God Recordings website, which is managed by Branham's two sons (Joseph and Billy Paul), represent the majority who are plain simple Christians.

The serpent seed doctrine is not really so unusual when you consider that a number of Bible teachers interpret the "sons of God" in Genesis 6:2 as heavenly angels cohabiting with human women to produce offspring who were giants.

Because of intermarriage, 'serpent seed' today is a spiritual condition not a physical lineage. All flesh has been corrupted by sin. I have never heard a preacher who follows William Branham say that all who do not believe his Message are 'serpent seed'. William Branham said there are genuine Christians in every denomination.

Perhaps because I live in Australia I do not come across the extremes that arise on the American scene. Fortunately here we are mostly limited to reading and hearing what William Branham himself actually said.

I know a few Branhamites and they have a warped sense of the serpent seed doctrine. It is strange that any child of theirs who doesn't marry or follow their beliefs somehow become serpent seed. Makes me wonder about their mothers

Blessings, Rhoni

William Branham probably had a broader definition of who is a Christian than most Pentecostal and Evangelical teachers.

He said:

"I believe there's just as many Christians out there in the Baptist, as there is in the Methodists, or the Presbyterians, or whatevermore. They're Christians, real believers. And right out in the Roman Catholic church there's genuine people in there that's real men and women that love the Lord.

Now, a great part of my congregation is made up of Pentecostal people, because Pentecost is the latest message that we have in the denominational ranks. And to me, I certainly agree with them more than any other denominational church. I hang towards the Pentecostal, because it is the later message. And all my converts that I bring to Christ, I try to direct them to some Pentecostal church. But I have condemned them in every way that I knowed how, that they were wrong in the Scripture by being a denomination and not willing to walk in Light when Light's presented to them. But yet, if I had to take my choice today to take any church in the world, I'd take Pentecostal when it come to denomination. But when it comes to individuals, as men and women, there's genuine Christians in all them denominations: Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutherans, and so forth.

I can agree there are nut cases in every group that go to extremes.

My dear Sister, I thank God that I haven't. I fully believe you that some people have misused the things William Branham said for their own ends ... but that's not much different to what happened in Paul's day.

As far as knowing the doctrine William Branham taught, I believe I am as well informed as anybody. I see no evidence of negative effects on families in my area ... in fact, William Branham's words on how a husband should love and appreciate his wife actually saved my marriage ... and my wife is still a Catholic!
