but the simple fact that there is inherent hypocrisy in allowing internet but not tv (or even radio but not tv) is in fact an argument for television (that or an argument that they should preach against all of the above)
yelling "INTERNET" loudly is an argument for resolution 4...
we agree that it is an argument. it isnt the only arguement. even I get tired when one argument gets all the play. we have heard INTERNET plenty. what about some of the others? there are many.

why say more than one word when all you need to say is one word??
Why not spend the rest of the time doing something more constructive rather than making an argument that basically makes itself?
it was a "royal" you, not a specific "you", sorry if that was misunderstood... (although I did assume he was in support of the anti-tv thing)
I am saying that letting things be as they were was probably the safe way to be.
I will say that someone can watch TV and still go to heaven, but TV isn't all it is cracked up to be either.
Yes, internet has it's pitfalls-one is wasting time taking away from the work of God & spending time with ones own family.
I will say this, if TV advertising turns out to be the thing that causes "large legitimate evangelism" resulting in a huge influx to our churches while not watering down our doctrine-I will be the first to stand up and apologize!
I can do that-ask Ferd.
Right now, I just think that the cost is too great if it results in a split.
I hate splits & division and I know God does as well.

How about this argument:

No prob. Ron is one of the good guys. but he has a point. I was for the resolution 100% but even I get that when we are talking about TV, the default argument is to yell INTERNET really loud.
Let me just say this. If the UPCI survived 1992, it will survive 2007.
I suspect that at the end of the day, those that leave over this will continue to work for God but will be much more happy not feeling like they have to keep fighting every step of the way.
Someone made the point this was much like Barnabas and Paul going seperate ways. It wasnt a doctrinal issue but it needed to happen. I think I tend to agree with that.
I have great respect for these men that are leaving. Some of them have been very kind to me and I love and appreciate them. I hate to see the termoil this is causing but at the same time, I honestly believe this is right for the UPCI.

***SIGH***
the thing is... I don't think its this issue that is causing the split...
I think, especially reading the posts of the UCs on here and realizing they are splitting and planning on doing it immediately after it was passed, that they were only going to stay as long as everything was done exactly how they wanted it...
it was only a matter of time before those brethren either split or forced the people they didn't want around (the people on the more liberal side of things) to split...
a split was inevitable because one side refused to even discuss things... no amount of negotiation or time or anything was going to stop the inevitable...

well it is a lot more complicated than your explination, but I do agree with you that TV isnt the cause of any split. To quote some of the men that are leaving, this was just the final straw.

I agree 100% Ferd.
It is the bolded part that I really hope & pray you are right Bro cause this issue since Friday & talk of people leaving has grieved my heart.
