[QUOTE=Pianoman;258777]I can agree with maybe one exception!
3.Compassionate toward people--very loving
In some cases this is true AS LONG AS you line up to their teachings. If you break a rule, sometimes you will get their wrath and anger!
Unfortunately this is my experience. I grew up in what I consider a very conservative environment, but we have NEVER been able to live up to the "standards" of the churches around us. And we have always been made aware of this, generally in not very compassionate ways.

I have had people to almost bend backwards to try to please us and then teach their people that to fellowship us is spiritual adultry...

Yes our family went to his camp meeting in ft worth. i was too young to remember but his later years, after preaching all those strict hardline rules, they found out that he had a liquor cabnit at home and his son left and started a charismatic church across town

The big one always seems to be the video thing, but honestly, I can't keep track. Partially because a lot of what I hear being said is untruths, about what we actually do teach/allow. Although, honestly, most of our "Standards" are not preached about often. We have ministry guidelines and classes on our "standards", but our preaching is most often from the Bible. (VERY TIC)

I do hope you are kidding. His presence could sure make a soul tremble back in his time.

This is very interesting. I was called an ultra con way back on FCF and I guess I accepted the tag. I would like to clarify a few things:
1. There have always been men in the AMF that taught 'innocent party' with the exception of the ministry.
2. I know Elder Shew took wine for communion but I have never met anyone who said he drank it socially?
3. Also there have been men in the AMF that believed in women preachers Elder Bean's mother was a preacher.
