either way, the word I used was Overhead.. so you could say that one's foreign mission donations are sent to the missionary intact without any organizational/administrative overhead.

How does that sound?

There was no stated goal of winning souls. A stated goal is "Conservative ministers will be unifying to reach lost souls and spread the Pentecostal Fires across the globe" or something similar. It was missing entirely.

The TV thing is the same. The non-UCs that are for it have a stated goal that points towards souls

The UCs that are against it have a stated goal that pointed towards the organization being a conservative one

I am a member of the Durham UPC where Johnny Godair is the pastor. By the definitions of the posts I have read so far he would be considered an "Ultra-Con" by all. If you don't think he reaches for souls you need to come visit one service. Just because a pastor holds to the old paths doesn't mean there is no outreach and souls being saved.

My father was an evangelist, we were at Bro. Epley's church during a Sunday School drive where there were many visitors, Bro. Epley actively promotes outreach and soulwinning.

Ultra-Con does not equal "Anti-Outreach"!!!

I got the Holy Ghost in your church when I was 13. I've been there several times and i'll be at ECC this year (can't wait to hear Bro Odom again). It's a crazy concept that people have when they actually think that being UC makes you unevangelistic. My pastor was one of the 5 most successful evangelist that the UPC has ever had and he is what would be called UC. I just don't get this crazy thinking.

Nobody said Ultra Con equals "anti-outreach"....

BTW people here that are NOT Ultra Con can also be said to be holding to the old paths. The problem is many UCs think only what THEY believe are the Old Paths and everyone else is just lost

Nobody said BEING UC means being unevangelistic. Go back and actually read the thread this time and what was said by Bro Epley and the replies. It's about what HE said and WHY those that are leaving are leaving...no mention of souls. A good reason to leave might have been "because we feel we can reach more souls", but the stated reason was all about "us" UC's circling the wagons around conservativism...that's a bad foundation to build on when the winning of souls is not mentioned or your focus.

Jesus came to seek and save that which is lost...not "to set up a conservative organization of conservative ministers"
