Yes, I know a pastor whose church just became non affiliated this year.
He applied to forien mission and met the board at conference last month.
The board tore him up over this and did not appoint him.

I believe it....
I guess they just figure, if a guys disaffiliates he must have some level of disloyalty....even if that isn't true....

Global I've heard of. but not Destiny. We may be looking to get a back up license for pastor in case the Ol boys at upc HQ decide that want his card.
Most our folks don't know we are UPC. All our advertisiments/brocures list no organization.
Occasionlly we get some outdated litureture from HQ usally about three months late called the herald, that identifies with the Org.

Thanks for giving succinct, clear, and correct answers. Kind of nice to read a thread about affiliation that is actually right in it's posts.

RRFord, I was thinking about you when I saw this thread. Thanks again for the very clear and corrct answers you posted about a year ago, when our church was questioning Affliiated VS non affiliated.
