Isn't it a comfort to know that God's love will never let us go?

Brother you are not alone.I know of several and they are doing well.
One of my friends daughters is in her early thirties. She was diagnosed about
six years ago.I was with her when they hung AZT bags before her baby was born. She came with us to a revival and Brother Gordon Winslow told her that she wasn't going to die but live. She tested out last year with no detectable trace of the virus.God is good and He can do anything.
I also know of a lady who has passed away recently who was positive Hep C.
When she got baptized in Jesus name they did her routine bloodwork and she
tested negative for it.God is good. She had the lab work to prove it.She died in an accident with nothing to do with Hep.

Sister,

The sad part would be that there are millions of people living with this disease. I would have to admit that I am one of the lucky ones for knowing Jesus and his love for me. There are so many that haven't been as fortunate as me. As a nurse, I am sure that you are aware that there are over a 1000 different strains of HIV and many are drug resistant and very aggressive.

I had a long conversation with Ray Highfield this morning about this very subject and the immense need that people infected with HIV and those suffering from AIDS have in our society. Our friendship has spanned 17 years and during that time he has ministered to countless victims of this horrendous plague. He risked so much and lost so much because he followed the leading of God's Spirit while others withdrew and ridiculed him.

I look forward to our visit next week and my trip to De Ridder in the next month to help in any way I can with the building of the compound his ministry has there in that city. He has reached people around the globe with the compassion of Jesus and he has always been a man of God that I have respected so much.

Pray for him and his ministry if you have the time. I know that the attacks on him and his ministry can't stand against the power of God.

Bless you...

Brother I have not heard of Ray Highfield.I do however since I work at the jail deal with alot of infected people.I pray for them and am always looking for a way to witness.Jesus can do anything.I lost a dear friend last month to it.
He was awesome and had the Holy Ghost.Staph kept reoccurring. He was such a blessing to us when my father was ill and worked as a sitter for me.
I don't mind mentioning that his name was Wayne and he was a worshipper.
I thought of him when I needed a sitter because he was so good with people and my dad loved him.God is good.He can do all things and He knows the end from the beginning.I will pray for this ministry. Its dear to my heart.
People often get in church and want to stop their anti-virals.You don't have to.When God heals the viral loads drop completely. They will tell you to stop taking the meds.

Sister,

Thank you for sharing the story of your friend, Wayne. I sensed how much he meant to you and your burden to help others like him. You touched me this evening by what you wrote for it gave me hope that there were more Apostolic men and women who shared the burden to help those who AIDS.

I am acquainted with pesky staph infections and Wayne's story was one that sounded much like my own. I will PM you some information regarding His Touch International, which is ran by Ray Highfield and they are adding four more building to house those homeless and stricken with AIDS. It is a worthwhile ministry to keep on your prayer list. Below is a video I posted earlier this year, which touched me greatly. Thanks, again for your posts.

Thanks for sharing that video Brother.I just wish though it would have been shot in the U.S. There are a surprising number of women who are suffering with this as well. Not what everyone stereotypes either. These are even women who live professional lives. Its the fear of contacting something that can destroy you and lack of education that hinders many from reaching for those suffering from HIV and its related disorders.I have heard what sinner people who work in the medical field even say.I also believe its because people feel that Aids,Hiv are contacted through a sinful and anti Jesus Christ lifestyle that they are a punishment from God and people deserve it.That is alot of hinderance and the enemy of our souls has done this purposely.
Anyone can be healed.Anyone can be saved.
I did a very good continuing eduction unit this year by a physician from Harvard on the virus and how medication is adjusted according to lab results.I do alot of labs on HIV positive people. Its so important to them to
have their meds adjusted at just the right time and alot of people just go off the meds or decide to give up.Jesus has hope.He can heal and deliver and give us wisdom. Thanks for sharing today.

AIDS doesn't discriminate....In the eighties, it was considered a "gay cancer" and many including the government failed to take this threat seriously. I lived in the San Francisco area from 86-90 during the height of the epedimic and that experience stayed with me until this day. I was involved with Omega House, a hospice for AIDS patients, for many years here in Houston until my own health prevented me from volunteering. I was a residential care coordinator, which would be equivalent to a Home Health Aide.

I realized a long time ago that there were very few people that could do what God had me to do by taking care of the personal needs of someone dying; however, like the video stated that the church shouldn't be afraid to reach out and demonstrate the grace of God through their actions and deeds. Simple acts such as buying groceries, taking time to listen, reaching out in prayer, taking care or playing with their children, or just being there sitting quietly could be such a wonderful gift to bring to those that are dying.

There were those volunteers at the hospice that it was too hard for them to come into the facility, but they would come by once a week and plant pretty flowers and gardens for the residents to enjoy. Some would come and ring the bell and bring a nice pie or casserole for those that could eat solid food. I hope that everyone would see that there is something they could do for those dying with AIDS. When someone has been diagnosed with cancer, the support network for those people have been tremendous; however, as you stated, those with AIDS have continued for the most part to be feared and judged. If only we could see others as Jesus does...

Ok, this thread took me out of my "lurking" state, at least for the duration of this topic.

Ray Highfield has been to our church several times and PERSONALLY helped my sister and brother-in-law through a VERY rough time in their lives right after their twin premature daughters were born, lived about 48 hours, then died.
He has taught many people what true compassion is. It is NOT about turning your head in self righteousness at their sin, but helping them when they are down as if they had not sinned to begin with. That is true grace.

I can personally vouch for his ministry!

Good to have you post on this thread! I could tell that you knew Ray very well by what you've written above. I have never met a man as selfless and caring as this man. I too have witnessed first hand the sacrifices that he has made to reach out to people regardless of the situation.

He will be in Houston for two days next week for a conference. If you want to PM me, I'll be sure to tell him that you said hello.
