Been there done that. It is healthy to re-evaluate from time to time, even if you end up with the same conclusions.

5. The "answers" I think I have - it's the articulation that I seek. I tend to be technical, too much so in my writing. I actually like that style because I don't have to think about what I'm saying or how it comes across because it's all jargon with no feeling so I/we can focus on the technical issue at hand. But that's also being lazy and I'd like to hone my style somewhat.

But this is Darcie's thread - she's going to TN! I just know that's going to be a blast. And whoever that lugnut is in her avatar lately, I hope he has the greatest success!

Oh yeah...Darcie and her kids and a friend are coming here in a couple of weeks to visit and look at housing. I'm excited to see them again! It's a very long drive, especially with children, so we would ask everyone to pray for her!
We are so siked about the trip, its all Jaden is talking about.

Some may not agree or care. Not withstanding, I am so excited about you guys stepping into grace and being propelled into His purpose.

I am so happy that God has opened this door and am confident that you are on the verge to seeing the fulfillment of the promises He's made for you and your family.

I love you and Godspeed.

Carpenter,

I understand that on some threads Dan can be blunt, and normally he gives as good as he gets. But I sincerely hope your conduct here is not indicative of your character. The man was expressing emotion to his sister in a post that even alluded to great family loss. What you did was about as couth as shooting paintballs at a wedding procession. It was not only lacking in agape it does not even reach the standard of simple civility.

It is hoped you reconsider your action, apologize, and save the snide remarks for a different time and topic.

Listen, I have been around a long long time and it is very convenient for someone to elevate their level of spirituality level to the point it is dripping with convenience.

YOU WON THE LOTTERY??? Hallelujah! I was praying for you that you would!!! Now don't you think I am spiritual....!!

What about all the times they didn't win...where is your elevated level of dripping and muckity muck spirituality now?

I don't know the folks in TN don't know the details of their situation, but I think it is pretty audacious for D.A. to all of the sudden tell these folks that their decision was based on his prayers and furthermore the decision was the right one because he agreed with it.

I just felt...talk about descernment...a spirit of condescension in D.A.'s tone. Like I said, had they decided to go a more conservative UPC or Apostolic route, D.A.'s response wouldn't have been so drippy or corney. Based on his elevated level of Spirituality, he would have probably told them to go and seek the Lord HARDER so they could be lead somewhere other than the UPC/Conservative path.

It has little or nothing to do with what I believe or my convictions, it has to do more with relativistic spiritual condescension, and it turns my stomach regardless of which camp exhibits it.

I love you and Godspeed.

Carpenter ... are you aware Darcie is my sister? We have been discussing her situation for months now ... I just was there in August ... when Sherri, Eddy, Darcie and JC met. This is something we've prayed for.

You're entirely clueless.

If she is your sister and so close to you, why communicate this in the forum? Could it be so that all can see how spiritual you are when it appears her decision could somehow elevate the fact that even though many consider you backslidden, etc., you are indeed spiritually in-tune and thus can prove them wrong?

If this were me and considering that such a decision (as I know for a fact they are!!!) to move churches is so intimate and spiritually difficult, I would abhore the notion of my brother/sister posting something seemingly on my behalf for their own reputational benefit.

In a nutshell, you used your sister's situation in an attempt elevate yourself.

Clueless? I think not.

Carpenter,

Yeah you are clueless, my brother and I speak over phone daily sometimes throughout the day. His post was a public way of him showing us support.
And I KNOW he would be happy for me whatever decision because he personally saw and heard what we've been thru, and he knows me well enough to know that I'm seeking God's will.

Darcie, you have a sweet spirit and I believe what you're saying.

I think Carpenter is just trying to yank your brother's chain a little!
