At the risk of sounding conservative (ahem.....), I want to go on record and say that I think Bewitched was one of the downfalls in American culture. It made witchcraft seem cute and acceptable, and made little girls emulate someone who God would call an abomination. Even acceptance of Casper the "friendly" ghost and Wendy the Witch made light of something that God called unholy. I grew up on this stuff, but I wouldn't let my kids watch it.
If those shows had not been accepted in the 60's/70's, the more blatant shows like "Charmed" would not have had an inroad today. JMHCO!
(Just My Humble CONSERVATIVE Opinion!)
Don't forget "I dream of Jeannie". Gave a whole generation of us guys a harem fetish!
Barbara Eden was probably the whole cause of these girls 30 years later baring their midriffs.
I'm somewhat surprised here Sherri. You do understand "Casper" and "Wendy" and all of that was "just pretend?" I'm no promoter of those things because I saw them as silly and frivolous. But there were never dangerous.
But "Bewitched" as a "downfall of American culture?" Maybe because it was so trite. But it certainly wasn't dangerous to an educated person who realized that even if you could wriggle your nose nothing supernatural would occur.
Sorry, but no one can sway me on this. I understand fantasy and pretend, but I also understand that there are only a few things in the Word that God called an abomination and to make those things seem light and funn, I think, is wrong. I still think those frivolous shows opened a door in the spirit world in our country.
Again, my favorite saying is..........What one generation tolerates, the next generation will celebrate. Look what has happened in the past two generations in the realm of the evil spirit world.
This type of thing gives a lot of credence and arsonal to the conseratives.
Afterall, you folks have been supporting all this mess and now you are surprised?? let down?? come on
ummmm, funny how this is ignored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not life. It's politics and social engineering.
It's life and it's politics and social engineering. There's no doubting that there is an agenda, but like it not, the gay lifestyle is very much a part of the North American culture.
Do you have a background in witchcraft and demonism?
I do. I disagree with Praxeas. I haven't read a fantasy book with any magick in it that's based in any reality. Now, I haven't read every fantasy book out there...lol But I have read a few.
*I* who have to be extremely cautious of things that are no problem for most people, have no problems with Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. I did get rid of the Sword of Truth series though...lol (not due to magick..kind of adult themed...lol)

Shellfish and crab meat are some of those "few things" called an abomination of God forever.
As far as the "evil spirit" world, I really don't think Casper the Friendly Ghost qualifies. Casper seems more silly than evil to me. But taking a harsh stand against frivolous things I have found that I tend to lose my audience and they aren't listening when I do finally get to warning of the real evils.
Are you trying to be "conservative" on this because some have unfairly labeled you as "too Liberal" in the past?
